A few weeks into quarantine, way the hell back in April, my dear and I decided to at least TRY to keep celebrating. Amidst the fear and uncertainty we had some sort of Happy Hour feast with music, cocktails and the most delicious food rampant food shortages would allow. Though things felt a bit forced at first, we quickly fell into a grateful routine. It was the tiniest reminder to retain as much normalcy as possible, if not every single day, then at least every Friday night for a few hours.
That much needed new tradition continues.
I’ve slacked a bit on my recipes here not because I’ve stopped cooking. We’re all cooking even more than ever before, right? But I typically pride myself on testing recipes often before sharing them.
And the time, supplies, and discipline required to do so simply isn’t available at the moment.
I don’t wanna test and perfect.
Perfect seems silly.
Right now is about holding on, pushing thru, and keeping healthy & sane.
Right now is about embracing the simplest of pleasures.
So, instead of providing you recipes for the most perfect Oven Fried Artichoke Hearts with Elderflower-Pomegranate Martinis as intended, I’ll offer some photos. These are from our most recent Friday night extravaganza.
Hell or high water.
The celebration continues.
